Over the last few years we have made various changes to the database, like adding the by concept view for cross country comparison. We’ve also created new features like tree filters, bookmarks and favorites. All of this has changed the way you interact with the database. Our latest project came about as the logical next step.
The project included simplifying the structure of the database and reorganizing the way the data is grouped, so that when you look for data your options are more intuitive. The result of all this work is a much-simplified economics database, navigated via three points of entry:
- Country & Region
- Source & Release
- Concept & Category
Use Country & Region with a filter
If you’ve upgraded to Macrobond 1.19 you can apply a tree filter to specify exactly which countries or regions you want to view data from. See the example below.
With no filter added you’ll have access to the complete lists of countries and regions
Once the EU filter is added, the list is limited to the relevant countries
You’ll find a list of pre-defined filters to select from. You can also create your own filters. To find out more about this have a look at the help material on this topic, on the Macrobond help website.
More to come
As always, we have a have a few more changes we’ll be implementing in the coming months – so don’t hesitate to share your thoughts on the above. Your feedback is a central part of how things develop!
