IMF CPIS Database
CPIS, which stands for Coordinated Portfolio Investment Survey, is a database from the IMF covering economies’ holdings of portfolio investment securities. CPIS data is compiled from the following separate datasets, per country:
- Equity and investment fund shares
- Long-term debt instruments
- Short term debt instruments
Below you have an example of data showing the distribution of China ’s investment across various countries.
CPIS data can be accessed directly via the IMF database in the application, or via the link provided at the end of the post.
LME – Commitments of Traders (COT) Report
Below we have an example of data from the London Metals Exchange COT report, showing the positions of different institutional investors in the aluminum market. The report provides an understanding of the predominant business activity of the LME members and their clients. It represents the daily open positions statistics that are reported, based on the futures positions on LME traded contracts and Delta equivalent traded option positions.
ECBC Bond Market Statistics
The European Covered Bond Council is an organization that represents over 95% of the covered bond issuers around the world. Their Statistics and Data Working Group collects and publishes statistics for all covered bond jurisdictions. Statistics are compiled from the issuer level by experts in each country to ensure accuracy and comprehensive coverage.
