HWWI commodity data – now availableCommodity indices and price data from the Hamburg Institute of International Economics (HWWI) are now available in the Macrobond Application.
Macrobond is pleased to announce the availability of commodity indices and price data from the Hamburg Institute of International Economics (HWWI) in the Macrobond Application.
The HWWI Commodity Price Index with its 34 underlying commodities is a broad indicator of price development in the global commodity market. The index family is available in both USD and EUR versions and consists of one main and 15 sub-indices with daily- and monthly frequency series each available in two groups – one where the weightings are based on imports into the Euro Area and another where the weights are decided by the share of imports by countries in the OECD.
In addition to the indices themselves price series with monthly averages for the underlying commodities are also available.
Monthly data is available from 1960 (USD) and 1978 (EUR) while daily frequency series start in April 1996 for both currencies. New values usually become available on the first working day of the month for monthly series and on Mondays for daily frequency data.
